Spanish "WIND TURBINE"

The students from the class of 4th primaria (9 - 10 years old students) with the help of their teacher, have made a wind turbine. By making it, they have learnt in a practical way how they can take advantage of the windpower in order to produce electricity.
They have also learnt that wind energy is a renewable energy resource which
doesn't pollute, helping us to protect our environment.

Round bar of wood of 50 cm.
3 wooden spoons.

PROCESS

To build the tower they used the round bar of wood.

On its top, they fixed the electric engine with screws.

The center of the sails, was made by cutting circles of cork and joining them together with glue. On this center, they glued the wooden spoons which would work as sails. Once this was finished they fixed it to the edge of the electric engine.

that, they covered the electric engine with a platic glass and they connected the cable to the engine and to the bulb support.
When it was done, they painted the turbine with white paint and finally they fixed the turbine and the bulb support to a wooden base painted in green.
